Damon - Undefeated all week and won the "Best of the Best" at the Green River Tournament.
Utes wrestlers set a strong tone for season (Vernal Express)
Uintah finished with five wins and two losses.

Evenston -won (Damon Mele pinned Brandon Short, 3:02)
Second Day:
Green River - lost 38 – 28.
Douglas - won 34 – 31.
Cheyenne Central - lost 40 – 24.
"Utes wrestlers Colby Christensen and Damon Mele were selected to the Best of the Best competition at the end of the tournament, and both ended up pinning their opponents, and were named the Best of the Best in their respective weight classes."
